Khaled Hosseini Introduces Quarterly Newsletter
Picture from www.khaledhosseini.com
Khaled Hosseini, the author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, has come out with a quarterly newsletter that features articles on his foundation, The Khaled Hosseini Foundation, a Readers Section that highlights feedback from Hosseini’s readers, and Khaled’s Corner. The March newsletter focuses on the question that Khaled is asked most frequently and retells his experience on The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert.
I read The Kite Runner for the first time late last year and immediately fell in love with the book. The book details how beautiful Afghanistan once was through the eyes of a young boy and how the country fell to destruction by the Taliban. Until The Kite Runner, I’ve never really been interested in Afghanistan and I love how Hosseini was able to paint a country in vivid colors to make me see it in a way that I never had before. Since reading The Kite Runner, I have become interested in the politics in Afghanistan and no longer turn the channel when I see the Afghan War on the news. I have also become interested in supporting Hosseini’s foundation and look forward to the updates in his monthly newsletter.
