But sometimes you also need a bit of inspiration, something to motivate you into action. You may need to do a bit of shopping to get going, pick up a pair of cheap running shoes for women or a new bathing suit then all you need is some direction.

So here are some suggestions for a bit of reading the night before to get you inspired for the next day’s undertaking.

This is a route, which may not appeal to everyone, but if you enjoy the spiritual aspects of life, this is a book from a Tibetan lama and leader of a set of international meditation centres. His approach comes from a background of martial arts, horsemanship and running and discusses how he blended the physical and spiritual to achieve his goals.

When you set yourself the aim of doing something like a marathon for the first time, it doesn’t hurt to get some expert planning advice on the case. This book, and previous versions, have been in print since 1993 and have constantly evolved as the sport had. Spending longs hours at work as book critic and a hectic schedule with my family often prevent me from fitting into my day all the gym hours that I want. But not finding enough time to go the gym doesn’t mean that I gave up so easily, I just found another solution to my problem. I looked for workouts that were beneficial and works well to strengthen and tone my muscle mass. Another important factor was a workout that I could take with me on the go, something that I didn’t need a weight or gym for but could crunch into my day when I had a spare moment. Gather - The Art of Paleo EntertainingHand your girl this book when she invites guest so you can keep your diet on track and she can enjoy the cooking process. I’m being sarcastic. We both had a good time cooking these recipes together. This book was a great book to follow when my girl and I invited guests over. With recipes that allowed us to cook together and enjoy with friends and family, I’m glad I bought this book. This book splits Paleo entertaining into sections so that there is a meal for every occasion.
